What's going on here, first no more Grey Papaya's and now the Roseland Ballroom is closing?  The 80 year old iconic Roseland Ballroom venue in NYC is shutting down so apartments can go up.  Roseland is so historic it's been called "The World's Greatest Ballroom."

Were there not enough ball gowns to go around the dance floor?  Just kidding, the venue has been putting on concerts, hosting special events, fashion shows, private parties, boxing matches, and open as a night club mainly playing EDM for many years now.

We can also be happy the famed Roseland Ballroom will close in a memorable fashion with performances by a New Yorker.  We like petals on garments.

As it turns out the Roseland Ballroom was founded in PA so maybe it will arise somewhere again.  However it may be sooner goodbye 11-cent dances and hello 10-cent grocery bags.  Before Roseland the NYC space was home to an ice skating rink.

On your way to the closing concert?  The entrance of the Roseland Ballroom is mid-block so make sure you walk to the corner first to avoid one ticket that will not be music to your ears.

In other NYC news everything is coming up roses at Herald Square at the celebration of the 2014 Macy's 40th Annual Flower Show.  Revelers have until April 6 at Macy's Herald Square and April 7 at the Roseland Ballroom to join in the celebrations.
