Looking forward to summer but can’t turn your back on winter just yet?  Let heeltote.com usher in the warmer weather for you with our general styling advice on how to take stylish photos in the snow from our ‘Frozen Forest’ photoshoot. 

At times we used tree textures and branches as props and backdrops for our photos.  As props we also attached petals to the garments for one look.  Check out the ice on loan from nature.  We liked the snow in the hair which was added spontaneously and the tree we found that branches out in three directions.

“If you choose to photoshoot in the snow hopefully it will be all tree bark and no frostbite. 

Remember the saying “imagine yourself on a warm beach” when you were feeling cold?  We

did just that, both imagining and feeling, when we decided to explore the frozen winter for

our ‘Frozen Forest’ photoshoot.”

Online General Styling Advice: Heeltote.com on How to Take Stylish Photos in the Snow

Take a stand.  Cover the surface of the snow to make it easier to sit or stand on.

Slow shivering.  Relax your mind and your muscles with concentration.  Use your imagination – hot sand comes to mind.

Change looks.  Just as on the beach you can wrap material around yourself for privacy when changing looks.

Pick props.  Find or bring objects natural to your surroundings so you can fit right in.  We liked the ice on loan from nature.

Go for glitz.  We like sequins and how they sparkle as they reflect off the snow and the daylight.

Bring extra shoes.  When trying to keep your shoes in good condition standing on a metro subway grate in heels is tough but standing on fresh snow is virtually impossible.

Time it.  When facing challenging weather time your photoshoot or better yet don’t try this at home, or rather outdoors.
