WHAT: The 2015 Detroit Auto Show part 1/ part 2

We’re back just like the Red Wings #GoWings!  I am excited to present part 1 of the heeltote.com experience at the 2015 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS) at the Cobo Center in Detroit.  At the time we are announcing this 2015 Detroit Auto Show review, NAIAS happened in New York.

“We figured it out.  We will present the 2015 Detroit Auto Show review in two parts. 

This was a big show but we figured out how to present the heeltote.com experience ranging

from nostalgic to future hi tech vehicles, related items, and concepts.”

This year we’ll show you the vehicles, presentations, and exhibits that stood out for us at the Cobo Center in Detroit.  Last year we presented our experience in a series of haikus to celebrate their 25th Anniversary.  NAIAS originated in Detroit so of course heeltote.com had to go to the auto show here in Motor City.  The Cobo Center is located in an Automobile National Heritage Area along the Detroit River, and we explored the area in this event review.

But first, we named this event review ‘Princess for a Day’ for two reasons – a ship and a friendship with an awesome Detroit Red Wings fan who made me feel like a Princess for a Day.

Last year heeltote.com took great interest in Honda FIT and the cause they were supporting, so this year we visited the Honda FIT again. Heeltote.com would like to take this moment to remind you that you don’t need to be driving a Formula 1 racing car to buckle up.

In the Honda FIT we had the chance to enjoy a good chat with an attendee.

We like the Honda FIT theme of love.  Honda FIT asks you to send them #HondaLove so while you’re at it #ShowUsSomeLove @heeltote.

	Ford: Ford does not disappoint.  Last year we were very interested in the lightweight Ford F-150.  This year we were immersed in the Ford experience on two floor levels at the Cobo Center. On the ground floor, families had fun playing the ECOCHALLENGE game.

	We like Ford’s beautiful engines so much that we included images of their Turbo Diesel engines in our Heeltote.com Metallic Gallery. Ford ECOBOOST engines were on display on the lower level.  On the upper floor, was the Ford Performance Heritage Gallery where visitors could learn about the rich history of Ford Performance.

	Before we went upstairs we looked into the future with the new Ford Performance vehicles.  In an effort to cut carbon emissions, Ford offers ECOBOOST engines in today’s Ford cars, trucks, and utilities.

	Heeltote.com looks into the future at Ford’s main attraction, the new GT with a twin-turbo ECOBOOST V6 engine, first unveiled here at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show.

	This high tech car uses advanced lightweight materials.   GT available in 2016.

	Ford had its new GT and its classic GT on display on the lower level.

	So before we went upstairs we looked at the display of the classic 1966 Ford GT40 MK I race car which since its ownership from 1968 has been entered into 20 various hill climbs and sprint races, resulting in 10 wins.  This car has changed ownership several times since then.

	The Ford theme is ‘Performance.'

	Ford Performance Heritage Gallery: After looking at future and past Ford Performance vehicles, heeltote.com was ready to go upstairs to learn about the history of the Ford Performance in the Ford Performance Heritage Gallery.  And we could get the best view of the new Ford GT from upstairs.

	The Ford Performance Legacy of Power display showcased the Ford Flathead V8 made in 1932 – 1953 in the USA. This vehicle was a design that the innovative Henry Ford was personally involved in the creation of.

	The Ford Theme for the racing car display was Performance Power Motivation.  Upstairs was filled with racing memorabilia.

	There were displays of Ford nostalgia and future showcases for long time Ford fans as well as new fans.

	A classic Mustang engine was on display as well as The Future of Power Mustang V8 engine, see the engine specs. We liked the comprehensive Ford presentation very much.  It was quite a motivating display from Ford and there is still more Ford in part 2!  But first here is what also got Heeltote.com’s heart racing, an awesome fan.

	Ford knows their presentation would not be complete without acknowledging tire technology innovations which make their vehicles more safe and efficient. Ford has specially designed tires for surfaces like snow, gravel and asphalt, and sand. The Ford Where the Rubber Meets the Road display shows how rugged Ford tires are.

An Awesome Fan: This event review would not be complete if heeltote.com did not mention this awesome fan.  At the auto show we made a friendship with an awesome Detroit Red Wings Hockey Club fan #GoWings, who proudly expressed his fandom and wanted to pose with me so we’re calling this auto show experience “Princess for a Day” since that is how our interaction made me feel – the Journey song says –“hold on to that feelin’.”  Well we did! The Detroit Red Wings are one of the most popular NHL franchises.  As of 2014 the Red Wings have won the most Stanley Cup championships.  At home games they play the Journey song - “Don’t Stop ...”
