WHAT: Heeltote.com At FIT Creative Fashion Presentation's 2013 Fashion Shows

WHEN: May 15, 2013 at 7:00PM and 9:00PM

WHERE: FIT Campus in NYC

The Fashion Merchandising students of FIT in Creative Fashion Presentation held presentations by two different groups of students in the form of runway shows at the end of their semester this Spring 2013.  Each group had its own theme.  The first show had a 'Marie Antoinette' theme and the second show was 'Warrior Queen' - "a tribal inspired fashion show." 

Here is what heeltote.com experienced on May 15, 2013 as both groups of Fashion Merchandising students presented more than 50 finished looks in total.  When heeltote.com arrived on scene it was so exciting to see models in full makeup walking around and the long line of guests waiting to be seated.  By the time we arrived the stage for the first group was already set.  For the second show, we not only saw models arriving and transforming from hair and makeup, and the long line of guests waiting for the show, but we also had the excitement of hearing the moving of furniture from the stage being set and saw students running around.  We experienced the 'Warrior Queen' fashion show from start to finish.  

Did you know there is a 'Warrior Queen' movement?  Some may say a 'Marie Antoinette' movement, one that lets them eat cake, already exists.  But seriously, there is a 'Warrior Queen' movement made up of girls who just want to be themselves.  Tell heeltote.com why you are a 'Warrior Queen.'  

Heeltote Happening

Heeltote.com wanted to see what happens when someone wears fashion show makeup on the street.  Makeup was a huge part of the look for the 'Warrior Queen' fashion show.  Some reasons why people use makeup are to enhance their natural beauty, denote social status, or even as a disguise.  Who knew wearing makeup could mean so much!  We enjoyed the creative use of makeup in the 'Warrior Queen' fashion show.  Putting our makeup knowledge to the test, heeltote.com followed a model who proudly wore her look outside after the show.  Going by the curious looks given by people on the street, heeltote.com wondered what they thought our reasons were for this look.  Tell heeltote.com what you think.  One person outside said "only in New York", but you and I know that is not exactly true. 

For each show, once guests were seated, the runway show began and was followed by closing remarks.

Say Hey to Heeltote

Hey merchandising students, as a blogger/model I would like to keep up with your trends.  While experiencing these shows I kept in mind that these students are aspiring fashion merchandisers.  The makeup used in the show complimented the looks.  And, they were not only putting a look together but they were also setting a mood with decorating the space, the program and gifts, and with their choice of music.  During show  time I saw talent and hard work.  Keep heeltote.com posted about which stores you'll be working for as merchandisers or buyers by contacting us.  And best of luck!
