Our travel plans took a detour when airport check-in said "you'll have to
stay overnight." This turn of events led to our 'Airport Style'
photoshoot on the fly and our sleepover which you are invited to right here and now, so let's go!
We say a plan that has changed doesn't have to feel like a punch in the face when you must stay the night before your flight.
It's the...
When stranded at this airport/hotel, we had no choice but to choose garments from our own closet in our suitcase. Here are 4 of our 'Airport Style' favorite looks pulled from our suitcase.
And we just happened upon this
perfect location when we had to change our schedule to stay overnight at
a Westin hotel in Michigan. The hotel was eco-friendly and comfortable to say the least.
At this Westin the restaurant/bar name and interior décor theme is Reflections. The place was also conveniently located.
We felt at home here since reflecting before, after and during events is an integral part of our approach to performing the services we offer at heeltote.com.

is not fly by night. We're here to stay, at least overnight, so

planning.
But first, get your room key. It's going to be a long night. See you upstairs!
Upstairs we played with light,
settings, and moods while planning our photoshoot on the fly. We
chose to wait for daylight. These 3 photos below remind us of the game
of find the difference between the photos.
When styling selecting multiple
themes is also where the fun comes in as we contemplate how we'll do
it. Sure we love our #OOTD. We can look at ourselves in the
same outfit as the day is long but at heeltote.com we tend to go the distance with our style and we're doing it again by going into our suitcase to wing it in outfits which reflect our new realities.

Here is heeltote.com’s
general styling advice for how to take stylish photos on
the fly due to a rescheduled flight and overnight stay, an unexpected challenge, given in Warrior Queen
fashion.
“If you must photoshoot on the fly hopefully now you know how to
turn your style up a notch in an unexpected situation.
We did just that as we had to stay overnight at a
hotel
for our ‘Airport Style’ photoshoot on the fly.”
In another ‘what a model would do for
fashion’ moment, the key point quite opposite to the norm,
was to turn an uncertain situation into certain fun with a
photoshoot planned on the fly when our travel plans took a

Online General Styling Advice: Heeltote.com
on How to Take Stylish Photos on the Fly
Find light sources.
Whether the light source is from lamps and mirrors or the natural light through
windows, different lighting will create different moods. We
had the best view of the planes coming and going at
the airport through the large window from our hotel room. Check our announcements for heeltote.com hotel and restaurant reviews for when we introduce those.
Get acclimated.
Adjust the room temperature if needed. It can take
a moment to get acclimated to a new place and now you've got a bit of extra time to turn your style up a notch.
Wing it.
Take off your #OOTD and pull some looks. Most likely you've
already
brought various garments in your suitcase and there is always your
birthday suit. I wore the dress in Look one where shadow and light
dance on a cool night in
another city but I happened not to have photographed the dress much that
night. We are planning to present more about that in an upcoming review.
Follow a theme. The
theme for our on the fly 'Airport Style' photoshoot was already set by our setting at the airport/hotel. Our unexpected overnight stay called for moments of reflection. We started out in
a cream dress patterened as how shadow
and light dance on the floor and as how our thoughts race while we contemplate the waiting and
anticipating of our new situation. And between those bamboo leaves it's the eye of the tiger (inset) for Look 1 Reflections. Next after a long night sleep we moved into Look 2 Jacuzzi
a cobalt blue linen dress to soothe ourselves by being relaxed in our
choice to take a stylish route which would leave us hot but not
bothered. For Look
3 Directions we
figured it out in black and white after taking a needed moment to relax
and reflect. For our new #OOTD (outfit of the day), depending on
whether we would travel mainly by road or by plane we knew one way or another we would choose to either to play it down or glam it up. For Look 4 Take Offwe chose to glam it up with a white shiny dress with metal embellishments that while in motion float like metal in the clouds for our first class flight. Ready, Set, Go!
Protect your skin. Plan on dipping in the Jacuzzi or pool? Make
sure to apply moisturizer to protect your
skin if needed. You never know, you may have thought you were just
heading back home and then get thrust unexpectedly into a
photoshoot to be in and out of outfits and new settings. One
thing I liked about this particular hotel for our 'Airport Style'
photoshoot was that the soap in the shower did not dry the skin so no
extra moisturizer was needed. It's okay that you probably did not
buy gallons of water-based Passion Lubes, whatever that is, from the
Amazon Prime Day sale this July 15, but the shoe horn, now that could be
useful.
Wear other shoes. When trying to keep your shoes in
good condition fighting with heavy luggage in heels
is tough and can easily wear down your shoes so wear other shoes than your traveling shoes.
Remember to eat.
You know the saying time flies when your are having fun. Time may be flying but even when you're grounded and photoshooting on the fly, much like a plane, you'll need to fuel up. And meal
sizes are much smaller on the planes nowadays. Check if you have
room service, and or access to restaurants, and schedule in some
meals. RSVP to read our restaurant reviews by joining the heeltote.com mailing list. But no matter what visitor, stay hungry!
Here
are 4 of our favorite ‘Airport Style’ photoshoot looks with their references:
Look
1 Reflections - Waiting, Anticipating
Look 2 Jacuzzi - Hot, Not bothered
Look
3 Directions - Play it down, Glam it up
Look 4 Take Off - Ready, Set, Go!
Now, think about it - you've already brought the items so why not go into your suitcase and wing it. We did just that as we decided to
enjoy our unexpected overnight stay in the city in the hotel at the airport
for our ‘Airport Style’ photoshoot.
